Other Horse Activities (non-riding)
We realise that not everyone wants to ride a horse... You maybe nervous or physically unable to take up the challenge. Would you like to spend time with these intelligent, gentle and noble creatures sharing an insight into their world?
We now offer ground based sessions where you can meet and make friends with our horses and ponies but with your feet still firmly on the ground! These are ideal sessions for a family or group.
Pony Patters 1hr session £30
This session starts with safety helmet fitting, followed by an introduction to horses and a safety briefing. We then meet some of our horses and ponies, learning how to approach them and make friends before grooming them correctly. All participants will have the opportunity to groom a horse or pony and learn some interesting facts about equines.
This session is suitable for Complete Beginners and for all ages from 3yrs upwards. Children must be accompanied at all times by a paying Adult. We recommend that you wear sturdy footwear. Please note this is a non-riding session. The session lasts approx 1hr.

An Introduction to Horses and Ponies 2hr session £50
This session starts with safety helmet fitting, followed by an introduction to horses and a safety briefing, discovering some interesting facts about equines. We then meet a selection of our horses and ponies, learning how to approach them and make friends before grooming them correctly. All participants will have the opportunity to groom a horse or pony, and learn how to pick it's feet out safely. You will also learn how to fit a headcollar, how to tie up correctly using a quick release knot, and how to lead a horse safely. If time permits we will also do some basic feeding and stable duties such as filling haynets, water buckets and sweeping up - keeping a safe and tidy yard.
