Sadly, after 9yrs of welcoming visitors to explore the Preseli Hills on horseback, we have reached the heartbreaking decision to close the pony trekking side of our business. We understand that this news will disappoint our customers, but the current political and economic climate has forced our closure due to our continually increasing overheads, in particular Pembrokeshire County Council licencing costs and Public Liability insurance costs. This coupled with a significant reduction in Tourist numbers visiting West Wales, makes our Seasonal, tourist-dependent, pony trekking business financially unviable and unsustainable.
Some of our beloved horses and cobs are for sale, and we will offer a few for part or full loan (to remain and be kept here). We will also have a limited number of DIY livery spaces available, so if you are interested please email anita@preseliponytrekking.com
Betty Bow Top
Go back in time with a romantic stay in our traditional Gypsy Bow Top caravan, situated in its own wild meadow and located in the heart of the magical Preseli Hills.
Betty Bow Top is equipped with a log burner, sink and gas stove with a cosy small, pull-out double bed. There is also a cool box (with ice packs provided) and some basic cooking utensils, crockery etc. We also provide bedding, pillows, bed linen and towels.
The welcome pack includes some tea, coffee, sugar, our own free range eggs, a pint of milk, salt, pepper and some cooking oil to get you started. We also leave a couple of toilet rolls in the bathroom in case of emergency. Any further supplies required will have to be purchased by yourself. One basket of logs is included in your rental. Further baskets of logs can be purchased in addition.
Local pubs serve good food and there are shops and takeaways within 3 miles.
Please note that we do not allow any pets inside the caravan due to allergies.
Beyond the Gypsy caravan, at the bottom of the meadow, there is stone seating around a fire pit. So you can relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Hills and Common around a campfire (Firewood is provided).
Betty Bow Top is only two berth but additional guests may bring a tent and camp in the meadow. This will be charged for on arrival at a cost of £5 per person per night.
In the adjacent farmyard is the washroom and toilet. This also contains a shower and washing up area. (Please note this is a shared facility).
